We also had a lot of enquiries about the PLCAA's forthcoming project, the Penrith Community Filipino School, that will open in May 2008. This will be a Saturday community school of active learning that will conduct lessons in Filipino language, Philippine dances, songs, arts & craft, cooking and the use of Philippine books donated thru Read Philippines Project in the Penrith City Library.
The PLCAA stall was decorated with posters showing the different beautiful tourist spots in the Philippines, display of Filipino costumes. We had Sungka Demonstrations and competitions, Philippine Trivia and Bugtungan. The occasion was graced by the presence of Philippine Vice Consul Hon. Ferdinand Victoria. Here are some pictures of the event.
Let Us Play Sungka

Special thanks to Integral Energy who provided us the tent to house our stall and to the Penrith City Council through the coordination of Andrew Robinson, for allowing us to be a part of the celebration of Australia Day.
