PCFS  celebrated the achievements of the students for the schoolyear 2014. The students took leadership in the celebration having Nicole Fonacier as the emcee, the students reciting poems and Argel Santiago  showing his magical skills through his handling of playing cards.

The PCFS staff is very proud of their student's progress in the learning of the Filipino language and their shown enthusiasm in experiencing the Filipino culture. Everybody looks forward to an  exciting  2015 schoolyearand we welcome the new teacher Famela Dulay for the secondary class.

Gina Ritchie will continue her service to the PCFS as the primary school teacher and Tita Letty Cunanan will continue the Adult Class. The Musical and Dance Program will continue to be offered to interested students.

This end of the year school celebration has ignited the thought of resuming the Filipino Heritage Youth Camp in the future.

PCFS @ St Marys Spring Festival Parade

Good News PLCAA with PCFS Staff, Students and Parents  won the Best Children Walker Award  at the 2014 St Marys Spring Festival -   the 5th time PLCAA got this award.

Special  congratulations and thanks to PCFS Staff and to  Maricel Dolores, one of the newest PLCAA member this 2014. Maricel is the head and teacher of the Baton Twirler Group and her Baton members for this parade are students of PCFS.  Their Baton march contributed greatly to the impressive parade of PLCAA this 2014 and much applauded by the community.

The energy oozing from the children kept us warm at that day's cold, wet weather. Thanks to Dodee and Arnie,  a student's Dad in carrying the PA providing the dynamic sounds for the Baton twirling choreography.

Thanks to Malu R and Au C in carrying the PLCAA Banner as they showcased their eye-catching Filipiniana costumes. Maricel Dolores' son Mak carried with much glee and joy  the PCFS Banner assisted by Te Be and a boy volunteer.  

PLCAA Beauty Queen Cora Baretto escorted by husband Boy Baretto made us proud as they walked with much grace and charm. 

Stella Duru's granddaughter delightfully walked with other PCFS students wearing  colourful Philippine costumes and proudly waving the Philippine flaglets and escorted by April Santos' son. All children constantly gave their wonderful smiles to the crowd.  Gina Ritchie and son gave a mother and son touch of involvement. Marie B and Stella D  wore the colourful Sayaw na Cuyo costumes...and did some graceful steps making an awesome choreographed march.

At the end of the PLCAA parade were Tita Letty Cunanan, Aida Basto and yours truly giving  the crowd a final glimpse of Filipiniana costumes. Hooray for the marchers....you did it again !

PLCAA-PCFS Excursion- Persimmon Picking @ Picton NSW

PLCAA has done it again. It was an excursion full of fun and discovered fellowship. We  experienced the skill of choosing the best persimmon and saw different shaped persimmon fruits that one will not see at the shops. 

 The tractor- cart ride gave a nostalgic feeling of imagining a carabao ridden cart in the Philippines. 

          

The farm visit was incredibly awesome...knowing how to pursue milking a cow who got scared with the presence  of PLCAA-PCFS and friends; experiencing how to make and roast a damper the outback OZ way, convincing oneself that you can do a bulls-eye at the archery field, enjoying the fresh breeze in the open field of the farm; being with people who were all down to earth to enjoy each other's company. Before everybody left the farm, people were already asking when is the next PLCAA-PCFS excursion. 

Thanks to those who invited their friends and relatives to this excursion. The funds raised by the PLCAA-PCFS through a raffle at the excursion was donated to the Gamit Aral project of the Blacktown Rotary Club in partnership with Rotary Club Intramuros for the children of the Typhoon Haiyan Victims.

Celebrating 150 years Honor and Heroism of Andres Bonifacio

 PLCAA participated  at the celebration of National Heroes Day 

 through its collaboration with the Philippine Consulate General Sydney. 

A film showing of "Ang Paglilitis kay Andres Bonifacio" (with English subtitle)  

was held on Saturday, 9 November 2013 at the St Marys Senior Citizens Centre.

Puspusan ang paghahanda ng mga mag-aaral ng PCFS sa tulong ng mga pahina ng  1.Salawikain, 2. Isang Kataga-Maraming Kahulugan  3. Dalawang Kataga-Isang Kahulugan, at 4. Isagawa Ito.  Tagumpay ang tatlong magkakasunod na linggo ng patimpalak sa pagbaybay, pagbigkas, pagsasagawa at pagbibigay ng tamang kahulugan sa bawat salita.  Patunay lamang na ang pinakamabisa at pinakmadaling paraan ng pag-aaral ay ang ipatupad ito sa kawili-wiling pamamaraan tulad ng laro at paligsahan.

Tinalakay din ang Salawikaing Pilipino, mga salita ng karunungan na namana natin sa ating mga ninuno.  Mga kaalamang gabay natin sa pag-araw araw na buhay.  Mga aral ng katalinuhan na magiging patnubay sa tamang landasin at pananaw sa kinabukasan.

Maging ang PLCAA ay nagkaroon ng patakaran na sa loob ng isang buwan, Filipino ang gagamiting salita sa paghahatid ng balita at talastasan. Tunay na sa puso natin, naroroon ang likas na pagmamahal sa wikang nagbubuklod sa ating mga Pilipino, ang ating Wikang Pambansa.
